Evita Ioannou

Meet the dietician!

Evita Ioannou is a Clinical Dietitian-Nutritionist with Specialization in Diabetes Mellitus, specifically in Type 1 Diabetes and insulin pump therapy.

She was born and raised in Paphos, Cyprus, where she completed her school education.

She studied Dietetics/Nutrition at the University of Nicosia, graduating in 2016. From 2017-2019, she completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Dietetics-Nutrition at the University of Nicosia.

During her studies, she completed 1,500 hours of practical training in various sectors including hospitals (private and public), nursing homes, institutes for people with diabetes, people with special needs, various associations such as the anti-cancer association, Make-A-Wish, and others. After successfully completing all required procedures, Evita Ioannou obtained the RD (Registered Dietitian) title from the HCPC (The Health and Care Professions Council) of England.

She has attended many conferences in Cyprus and abroad, and there is continuous education through various seminars she attends online and in person.

Many of the seminars she has attended and several certificates she has acquired concern Diabetes Mellitus (Type 1, Type 2), and she also has extensive knowledge about insulin pumps (continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion).

Her specialization and passion for Diabetes Mellitus, particularly Type 1 diabetes, began after she herself was diagnosed at age 9 with Type 1 diabetes. Growing up, she wanted to study something that would help people suffering from the same condition. Through extensive new research and empirical experience, she wants to educate as many people as possible so they can achieve better blood sugar control and better health in their lives with new methods and without deprivation.

She maintains a private dietetic practice in Paphos where she provides various dietetic services, addressing cases with a different perspective.

She is a member of the Cyprus Dietetic and Nutrition Association (Cydna), the Cyprus Diabetic Association (CDA), and the Cyprus Registration Council of Food Scientists/Technologists and Dietitians (Cyrbfstd).

Evita Ioannou speaks Greek and English.
